SANTA CLARA -- Randy Moss had just agreed to terms of a one-year contract with the 49ers.More important, he agreed to coach Jim Harbaugh's requests that he sit in the front row during meetings and set a good example for all of his teammates who would surely be watching his every move."I look forward to coming out here to the Bay Area and giving the 49ers fans, organization, something to rave about this season," Moss said on a March 12 conference call to announce his signing with the 49ers. "I look forward to playing."Those were among the last words Moss spoke publicly, opting to decline all interview requests during the 49ers' offseason program.As it turned out, Moss did not have to speak.Each of his teammates and coaches had glowing reports when asked about Moss over the seven-week program. Harbaugh went so far as to tell former Raiders quarterback Rich Gannon on "The SiriusXM Blitz" that Moss is the 49ers' best wide receiver.Moss' voice will be heard again on Friday, about two hours before the 49ers take the practice field for the official opening of training camp.The 49ers plan to make Moss, quarterback Alex Smith and Harbaugh available for questions from the media on Friday. The noon-to-1 p.m. session will be televised live on Comcast SportsNet Bay Area and it will stream live at CSNBayArea.com.Moss, of course, enters training camp as a presumptive starter despite sitting out last season in retirement.
