Interior O-line options at No. 30

Share

We're inside of two weeks until the first round of the NFL draft. Near the end of that day, the 49ers are scheduled to make a selection. It'll be repeatedly stated up to April 26 that the 49ers do not have to draft for need. But there are positions that appear to set up better than others for a selection at that point. We'll look at some of those positions in the next few days. Interior offensive line is one of those spots.Taking into account the obvious -- that Stanford guard David DeCastro -- will be long gone, here are four interior offensive lineman who could be available to join a competition with Daniel Kilgore and, perhaps, Alex Boone for the 49ers' starting job at right guard:C-G Peter Konz, Wisconsin
Ht: 6-5; Wt: 314
Bench press (225 pounds): 18
He could compete as a rookie for a starting job at guard while figuring in as the long-term answer at center. (Jonathan Goodwin is 33 and signed for another couple seasons.)G-T Kelechi Osemele, Iowa State
Ht: 6-5 12; Wt: 333
Bench press (225 pounds): 32
He has the athleticism and physical tools to be dominant, including an 86-inch wingspan.G Amini Silatolu, Midwestern State
Ht: 6-3 58: Wt: 311
Bench press (225 pounds): 28
He dominated at the NCAA Division II level as a left tackle. He'll be a guard in the NFL. His good feet and willingness to play to the whistle are attributes that make him worthy of a late-first or second-round pick.G Kevin Zeitler, Wisconsin
Ht: 6-3 78; Wt: 314
Bench press (225 pounds): 32
He earned the full-time starting role at right guard as a sophomore. Not a physical specimen, but is a dedicated worker who exhibits good technique and toughness.
