Play time: Moss sees more action, Jacobs active but inactive

Share

With receiver Mario Manningham out of action Thursday night due to a right shoulder injury, the 49ers activated running back Brandon Jacobs for the first time all season. But Jacobs, who has been healthy enough to play for several weeks, never got off the sideline in the 49ers' 13-6 victory over the Seattle Seahawks.OK, that's not entirely true.Jacobs jogged onto the field during a timeout at the beginning of the 49ers' final possession. Frank Gore was out of the lineup, nursing bruised ribs. But before quarterback Alex Smith called the play, second-string running back Kendall Hunter replaced Jacobs in the huddle.Randy Moss saw a season-high 41-percent of the 49ers' offensive snaps on Thursday with Manningham unavailable. Moss played 24 of the 49ers' 58 plays.Kyle Williams was the 49ers' No. 2 receiver behind Michael Crabtree. Williams played 30 snaps (52 percent). It's the second game in a row that Williams has been on the field for more than half of the team's offensive plays.Quarterback Alex Smith had a lot of difficulty getting the ball to the 49ers wideouts and tight ends with just seven completions on 15 pass attempts. Crabtree caught four passes for 31 yards. Williams, Moss and Delanie Walker caught just one pass apiece for a combined 44 yards. Here's the complete breakdown of play time for the 49ers on offense, defense and special teams:Offense (58 plays)
