Pro Bowl safety Dashon Goldson, the 49ers' franchise player, and the club have not made any progress toward a multi-year contract, a source told CSNBayArea.com on Friday.Goldson and the 49ers have until a Monday deadline to reach an agreement on a long-term contract. After Monday, Goldson would only be allowed to sign the one-year, 6.212 million franchise tender with the 49ers. The sides would not be able to negotiate a multi-year extension until after the final regular-season game."I just hope something will get done," Goldson said on SiriusXM NFL Radio this week. "And if not, I'll still be a 49er."There is no indication when Goldson would sign the one-year tender if the sides fail to reach a multi-year extension. Veterans are scheduled to report to 49ers training camp on Thursday, July 26, with the full-squad practice schedule for the next day.REWIND: Griffin contract another gauge in Goldson talks
Goldson declined to talk about contract specifics during his radio interview this week. But on June 19, Goldson wrote on Twitter that the 49ers had yet to make a formal contract proposal. That same day, Goldson's agent, Ben Dogra, negotiated a five-year, 35 million contract for safety Michael Griffin, who was the Tennessee Titans' franchise player.
