SAN FRANCISCO -- Running back Frank Gore was clearly aching after the 49ers' 24-24 tie against the St. Louis Rams on Sunday.Gore, who sustained bruised ribs Oct. 18 against the Seattle Seahawks, underwent X-rays after the game. He was getting around gingerly as he got dressed at his locker, about an hour after the game."Just sore," he said, speaking slowly and in obvious discomfort. "It's cool."But what wasn't cool for Gore was how the 49ers came out slow and were not able to win a home game against the last-place team in the NFC West. The 49ers, like the Rams, coming off their bye week, fell behind 14-0 in the first quarter."We came out sluggish," Gore said. "You could tell we had some time off. But the Rams came in and played hard. We didn't get the job done. We got to get better and get back to what we do and how we play."Gore finished with 97 yards rushing on 21 carries. He gave the 49ers a 21-17 lead with 8:23 remaining in regulation with a 20-yard touchdown. But the 49ers' defense could not make the lead hold up.When asked if it feels like a loss, Gore answered, "Yeah, it does. It feels strange. It just doesn't feel right. We just got to get back on track and get going."As a result, the 49ers and Rams played to the first tie in the NFL since 2008 when the Philadelphia Eagles and Cincinnati Bengals played a game without a winner. The 49ers had not played a tie since a 10-10 no-decision in 1986 at Atlanta. It was only the second tie in Candlestick Park history. The 49ers and New Orleans Saints played to a tie in 1972.
