Jeremy Affeldt left Saturday night's game against the Arizona Diamondbacks with left groin strain.

Affeldt came into the game in the sixth inning with two runners on base to relieve George Kontos. After getting Cliff Pennington to fly out, Affeldt worked a 2-2 count on pinch hitter A.J. Pollock.

Immediately after delivering the 2-2 pitch, Affeldt grimaced and grabbed his groin area, hopping up and down on the mound in apparent discomfort.

After a few words with the athletic trainer, Affeldt left the field, heading for the clubhouse.
