Giants first baseman Brandon Belt was named National League Player of the Week Monday after collecting a hit in all seven games he played last week.
Belt collected 11 hits in 25 at bats for a .440 average over the week and led the league in total bases and runs scored with 20 and eight, respectively. He also added two home runs, three doubles and five RBI.
While Belt has already set a new career-high with 13 home runs this season, his on-base percentage is down from .360 in 2012 to .349 in 2013.
The weekly award, Belt's first, comes just over a month after he went 0-for-8 with five strikeouts in a 16-inning loss to the Mets on July 8.
