BOX SCORE

ATLANTAGiants manager Bruce Bochy planned to review thecloser situation with pitching coach Dave Righetti and Santiago Casilla afterthe right-hander blew his fifth save in his last eight opportunities Wednesdaynight.

The Giants weathered the tying, two-run, two-out home runthat Casilla served up to Brian McCann in the 10th inning, eventually pouring it on in the 11th to pull out a crazy, 9-4victory over the Atlanta Braves at Turner Field.

But Casillas horror show has to be sending GM Brian Sabeanfor his cell phone as the trade deadline nears.

Bochy wouldnt commit to making a change in the immediateaftermath of a game that stretched into early Thursday morning and required theparticipation of 20 players.

Whether we make an adjustment or not, I cant answer thatnow, Bochy said. But there comes a time with every player when you have tochange it up. I dont want him to lose confidence.

Casilla converted 19 of his first 20 save opportunitiesafter seizing the role following Brian Wilsons season-ending elbow surgery. But he has been scored upon in six of his last 10 outings, plumping up his ERAfrom 1.32 to 3.34.

Casilla also has given up six home runs. Thats a third ofthe 18 homers that Giants relievers have allowed all seasonthe fewest in themajor leagues.

Although Casilla dealt with a blister issue heading into theAll-Star break, Bochy said that wasnt a problem any longer. He was lessconcerned with Casillas stuff and more concerned about his pitch selection.

Casilla just got away from pitching a little bit, Bochysaid. Hes too good to do that tonight. He gets a little anxious there withthe last out. Weve seen that a few times. There are some good hitters up thereand hes trying to power his way through them.

Casilla got two quick outs before Freddie Freeman hit atwo-strike double and McCann took him deep.

Casilla, who ended up getting credit for the victory, stillranks third in the NL with 23 saves in 29 attempts.
