Sandy Rosario left the game in Washington after taking a line drive off his sternum. (CSN BAY AREA)

Sandy Rosario sustained a bruised sternum after taking a line drive off the chest in the San Francisco Giants' 4-3 win over the Washington Nationals Thursday.

According to CSN's Giants Insider Andrew Baggarly, who talked to Rosario in the clubhouse afte the game, the right-handed reliever has a big welt where the ball made contact with his sternum and said he couldn't breathe for five seconds.

It's uncertain at this point how long Rosario will be unavailable for Bruce Bochy out of the bullpen.
