Former Giants hurler Jonathan Sanchez hasn't pitched in the major leagues since 2013, but he's still going strong in Winter League action.
Pitching for Indios de Mayagüez in the Roberto Clemente Professional Baseball League in his native Puerto Rico, Sanchez was named Puerto Rico Winter League Comeback Player of the Year Monday.
Additionally, he was named to the All-Star team.

According to the league website, Sanchez started three games for Indios de Mayagüez this season, posting a 2.51 ERA and 12 strikeouts in 14.1 innings.
Sanchez last pitched state-side in 2014 for Triple-A Iowa, the top affiliate of the Chicago Cubs. His last major league stint came in 2013 with the Pirates.
After being drafted in 27th round of the 2004 MLB Draft, the 33-year-old spent the first six seasons of his major league career with the Giants. In his time with San Francisco, he compiled a 4.26 ERA with 736 strikeouts in 708 innings. Sanchez went on to pitch for the Royals, Rockies and Pirates.
Expectations were high for Sanchez, but the lefty never fully lived up to them. He did show flashes of brilliance, like when he no-hit the Padres on July 10, 2009, and was part of the Giants' 2010 World Series championship team.
