SARASOTA, Fla. – At least two Orioles are likely to start the season on the disabled list. Outfielder Francisco Peguero, who has been sidelined with a sprained right wrist and pitcher Edgmer Escalona, out with a sore right shoulder, aren’t going to be ready to play next week.

Peguero hasn’t played in nearly two weeks, and Escalona injured his shoulder on March 2 against Boston.

“There’s inflammation in the tendon and also a bruise on the bone, and they’ll put me in a brace,” Peguero said on Wednesday morning.

He’ll be in the brace for two weeks.
