The Giants have reached an agreement to sign outfielder Jeff Francoeur, who was released by Kansas City on Sunday.  

Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports first reported the deal Tuesday morning, citing major league sources. Francoeur is in his ninth major league season.

The Giants will be Francoeur's fifth major league team. He was hitting .208 with three homers and 13 RBI in 193 plate appearances for Kansas City before he was DFA'd on June 30.
