Giants' Belt joins rare company in 16-inning loss

The Giants and Mets played 16 innings Monday night, giving San Francisco first baseman Brandon Belt enough at-bats to join some rare -- and very unappealing -- company.

Belt became the 10th player in Major League Baseball history to have a game with at least eight hitless at-bats while striking out at least five times. He became just the third player to do so since 1975.
