Giants DFA Uggla, Colvin to promote Duffy, Parker

The Giants made a number of roster moves on Friday morning, purchasing the contracts of second baseman Matt Duffy and outfielder Jarrett Parker.

The team designated second baseman Dan Uggla and outfielder Tyler Colvin for assignment to clear space for the newcomers.

The transactions were announced on Twitter.

Duffy, 23, is tearing up Double-A pitching with a .332 average and a .398 on-base percentage in 97 Double-A games.

The 6-foot-2, 170-pounder has 20 stolen bases and has been caught four times.

Parker, 25, is hitting .275 with 12 home runs and 58 RBI in 99 Double-A games.

He stands 6-foot-4 and weighs 210 pounds.
