Giants Diamond Girls: Jalynne Crawford

Amy: There she is, the gal everyone's been clamoring for, Jalynne Crawford, because she announced that she and Brandon are pregnant. And we've gotta admit that I'd actually done an interview with Jalynne and she wasn't announcing yet so we had to do take two, and she granted me the time. Thanks for logging on to csnbayarea.com for Diamond Girls, and give us the details about being pregnant. This is your first time. How are you feeling? When's the due date?

Jalynne: The due date is December 9th, so we're really excited because we planned for the off season and it worked out. So I'm ten weeks along, two and a half months, and we couldn't be happier because we're expecting!

A: You're so cute. Do you think you'll find out what you're gonna have?

J: Yeah, we talked about that. We both agreed as soon as possible we want to find out if it's a boy or girl, even though we don't have a preference.

A: So what people didn't realize is that you guys have had a lot going on, and publicly Brandon's had a lot going on on the field, going through some defensive struggles. What has that been like for you? He's clearly coming out of it at this point when we're talking, but what's your role when he's struggling on the field and how do you help?

J: I try to help by being as positive as I can when he comes home. We tend to not talk about the game when he comes home. We turn on a TV show that we could laugh at or just take the time to take his mind off it. We don't read in to the public scrutiny because it can be really negative and harsh, and we don't want him to see that. I don't want to see it, so we try to ignore the negativity and just look at the positive. We know he's a strong defender, we know he's a good baseball player so I keep telling him tomorrow's a fresh start, a new day-

A: A lot of reminding.

J: Yeah. Hope that he will come out of it and it seems that he has.

A: So give us the background on how you too met. It's such a cute story.

J: We met at UCLA freshman year so we go way back. I did gymnastics and he played baseball, and since I'm an identical twin he was trying to figure out which one of us had a boyfriend and which one didn't.

A: Doing his research. Very thorough.

J: Yeah. And later on when he found out that I was the single one we started dating, so it was a friendship first. We met through mutual friends, hung out, and then it fell into- we pretty much just fell in love after that.

A: Awww, we love that.

J: Funny story. We were walking on the beach one time and my twin sister was with us, and he thought it was me and went to like grab and hold her hand, and she was like "Uhhh...other twin."

A: Uncomfortable! Uncomfortable moment.

J: We are identical, so it does happen a lot.

A: And last one for you, just so we can get a little bit of scoop on Brandon. What is a- and I'll just ask for one- peeve of Brandon's for you?

J: Well, good thing I don't really have any one other than something to do with baseball. At UCLA we use to tease him and ask him if he had to turn off the lights, because he was the last one out every time. We'd be walking up Jackie Robinson Stadium and the lights would turn off. Everyone was gone except Brandon, so I was like "Is it a job of yours?" And he's taken it through the Minors, the Majors. He tends to be the last one and I told him "You don't have to look good for me," so I don't know if he was playing with his hair or-

A: I am a little jealous of the hair. In fact I might need to borrow some hair products. Have you ever used his hair products? 'Cause he has really good hair.

J: No. He does.

A: It can help at AT&T Park,

J: I think the baby will have good hair.

A: The baby will have good hair, that's right. Jalynne Crawford, how cute is she? Thank you so much for doing this, take two. And thank you for watching Diamond Girls on csnbayarea.com. We'll catch up with you next time.
