SAN DIEGO – The Giants are getting some arms in shape for September.

Matt Cain (contusion on right arm) threw 90 pitches off a bullpen mound and remained on track to start Saturday, manager Bruce Bochy said.

Left-hander Jeremy Affeldt (groin) will throw a simulated game Tuesday at Petco Park as he attempts to return for the last couple weeks.

And Chad Gaudin (carpal tunnel) should be cleared to begin throwing later this week.

One other quick pregame note as the Giants get ready for their Labor Day matinee here with the Padres:

Bochy reminded that all players on the Arizona Rookie League club, which won the league title, will get rings – and that includes rehabbing guys like Angel Pagan and Ryan Vogelsong.

Those guys just got blinged out Tiffany World Series rings. They’re still excited.

“I want my ring!” said Pagan, who might want to test it to make sure it doesn’t turn his finger green.
