Prior to todays game, the Giants optioned RHP Steve Edlefsen to Triple-A Fresno and recalled RHP George Kontos from Triple-A Fresno.
Edlefsen, who was drafted in the 16th round by San Franciso in 2007, appeared in 14 games this season with a record of 0-1. He allowed 20 hits in 15.1 innings.
The right-hander served up the walk-off homer to San Diego's Logan Forsythe in San Francisco's 6-5 loss on Wednesday.

Kontos (1.71 ERA) has been pitching well for the Grizzlies. He was acquired in the deal that sent backup catcher Chris Stewart to the Yankees.
