I think if the Giants don't extend him this spring, and he gets to free agency, he's probably in his last year as a Giant.

Pablo Sandoval is scheduled to become a free agent following the 2014 season.

But will the Giants and their third baseman agree on a contract extension prior to Opening Day?

That's the question Jim Kozimor asked Andrew Baggarly on Tuesday's Yahoo! SportsTalk Live.

"I think if the Giants don't extend him this spring, and he gets to free agency, he's probably in his last year as a Giant."

Sandoval will not be at Giants Fan fest this Saturday because he asked club officials if he could continue his workout regimen in Venezuela (he has lost an estimated 40 pounds since the end of last season).

Sandoval is playing right now for Magallanes, which hopes to wrap up the Venezuelan League finals series Tuesday night against Caribes de Anzoategui.

What do you think Giants fans -- should the Giants offer the 2012 World Series MVP a lucrative contract extension? If so, how many years and how much money?
