On Monday vs. the Rockies, Jake Peavy allowed one run on five hits over 6.2 strong innings.
The Giants won 3-1 to improve to 53-32 on the season.
"Teams find ways to energize themselves, in a lot of different ways. For Peavy, he's one that's energizing that clubhouse," Mike Krukow explained on KNBR 680 on Tuesday morning. "Think back what happened with his first nine starts -- we thought he was done; we thought he was done. Finished. And then all of a sudden he finds it, and all of a sudden he gets that big monkey off his shoulder -- the secret he had been holding about the loss of money he had with a long-time agent -- and all of a sudden he's free'd up, his mechanics are back.

"His last eight starts he's been phenomenal."
Over his first nine starts, Peavy went 1-5 with an 8.21 ERA.
He's 4-2 with a 2.27 ERA over his last eight appearances, and the Giants are 6-2 in those starts.

Since starting the season with 17 wins and 18 losses, the Giants are 36-14 over their last 50 games.
San Francisco's 53 wins are the most in baseball.
"You're not holding your breath when you get past the Big 3 (Bumgarner, Cueto, Samardzija)," Krukow added. "Now all of a sudden, everybody who is taking the ball is giving you a chance to win."
