SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – The hijinks began in the Giants clubhouse Thursday morning when Sergio Romo joked that Pablo Sandoval had lost so much weight, he could probably wear the slender right-hander’s jersey.

So they swapped uniform tops. It was snug, but Sandoval was able to fasten every button.

The theme took off from there, and when players took the field for the morning stretch, Tim Lincecum had become a 6-foot-8 giant.

He and right-hander Kameron Loe swapped jerseys and pants. Lincecum, who stands at 5-foot-11 in his spikes, was swimming in his uniform while Loe ended up essentially with very, very tight Capris.

Longtime clubhouse manager Mike Murphy did a stammer and a double take when he saw Loe.

“Hey Murph, I think you’ve got the dryer running a little too hot,” Loe told him.

The two pitchers took the field dressed as each other – and somehow, Loe actually made it through the morning stretch without ripping his pants apart – or losing all feeling in his legs.

Loe isn't the only recent Giant who appreciates a trim silhouette. Andres Torres was known for wearing clothes so tight he’d pop a button picking up a quarter off the ground. Brian Wilson wore skin-tight pants on the mound, too.

Loe and Lincecum returned to the clubhouse after fielding drills on a back field. The two pitchers switched back their clothes before MLB got the notion to give Lincecum an HGH test.
