The Giants finally will have their leadoff hitter back on Thursday.
Angel Pagan will rejoin the club in Milwaukee on Wednesday and be on the active roster – as well as back atop the lineup – for Thursday’s series finale at Miller Park.
Giants manager Bruce Bochy told the beat writers in Milwaukee that Pagan’s activation is pending no setbacks in his final rehab game for Triple-A Fresno on Tuesday.

Pagan, 32, hasn’t played since taking himself out of the lineup June 30, after gaffes in the outfield contributed to losses to the Colorado Rockies the previous two days. He has dealt with lower back discomfort and had multiple injections to attempt to alleviate a bulging disc.
The Giants are 77-58 with Pagan in the lineup over the past two years. They are 60-79 when he doesn’t play.
