Posey wins Silver Slugger Award

The awards keep on coming for Giants catcher Buster Posey.Posey was given the Silver Slugger Award Thursday, on the heels of his 2012 Comeback Player of the Year Award and the Hank Aaron Award, given to the the most outstanding offensive performer in the National League.Posey hit .336 with 24 homers and 103 RBI in the Giants' World Series winning campaign. He was the first Giant to drive in more than 100 runs since Barry Bonds in 2004.

The Silver Slugger Award is given to the best offensive player at each position in both the National and American League, and is voted on by managers and coaches. White Sox catcher (and former Giant for a season) A.J. Pierzynski won the award in the American league.

This by no means the end of the awards for the Giants' third-year catcher. He's considered the favorite to win the 2012 NL Most Valuable Player Award as well. Posey also won the Rookie of the Year Award in 2010.
