The Red Sox officially announced the signings of two left handed relievers on Sunday. Both Rich Hill and Jose Mijares have been signed to minor-league contracts with invites to spring training and will compete for spots in the Boston bullpen.
Mijares pitched in 60 games last season for the Giants, compiling a 4.22 ERA with 54 strikeouts in 49 innings.
Hill spent all of 2012 with the Red Sox and then was reunited with manager Terry Francona, pitching out of the Indians bullpen in 2013 where he put together a 6.28 ERA as a lefty specialist, throwing 38.2 innings in 63 appearances.
