Report: Giants get first look at Red Sox top prospect

The Giants will get a firsthand look at one of baseball's top prospects as they begin a series with the AL East-leading Boston Red Sox on Monday.

The Red Sox will reportedly call up 20-year-old phenom Xander Bogaerts prior to the first game of the series.

Bogaerts, born in Aruba, is rated as the #4 prospect in Baseball America's Midseason Top 50 Prospects list.

The shortstop started the year at Double-A Portland were he hit .311 (68-for-219) with six home runs and 35 RBI in 56 games. He was promoted to Triple-A Pawtucket and in 60 games, he hit .284 with nine home runs and 32 RBI.

In an attempt to increase his versatility, Bogaerts played 10 games at third base for Pawtucket.
