The Los Angeles Dodgers clinched their first NL West division title since 2009 on Thursday night, defeating the Diamondbacks 7-6. After they were asked to keep their celebration in the clubhouse and off the field, Dodgers players proceeded to rush Chase Field's outfield aquatic center for a celebratory pool party.
Arizona Senator John McCain, who regularly attends Diamondbacks games, was not pleased, and took to Twitter to voice his disgust:
Diamondbacks infielder Willie Bloomquist: "I think it’s tired and disrespectful. It’s surprising because they have a lot of veteran guys on that team that I thought were classier than that."
Diamondbacks President Derrick Hall: "I could call it disrespectful and classless, but they don't have a beautiful pool at their old park and must have really wanted to see what one was like."
Dodgers President Stan Kasten offered no comment.
