Wilson set to make Cactus League debut Sunday

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Now that Buster Posey and FreddySanchez have gotten their Cactus League debuts out of the way, its Brian Wilsons turn.Giants manager Bruce Bochy confirmed after the split squad win over the Milwaukee BrewersSaturday that Wilson will take the mound and throw around 25 pitches againstthe Seattle Mariners Sunday.Eric Surkamp will start and Bochy said hehopes to bring in Wilson as his fourth or fifth pitcher on the afternoon.Bochy also said that his expectations were low for hisclosers first Cactus League outing.

Good inning, easy inning, to be honest, Bochy said. Throwstrikes. Were not looking for him to go out there and overdo it. Its beenawhile. I know hes excited about getting back out there. He was talking aboutit today. Well keep an eye on him. Hes good to go. His stuff is what itnormally is its close anyway.After throwing the last pitch of the 2010 World Series, Wilson dealt with obliqueand elbow issues throughout 2011 and finished the season with a 3.11 ERA and 36saves. The black-bearded right-hander was limited to just two appearances afterAug. 15 because of an elbow strain.
