Edinson Volquez is hot over his last 12 starts, but he hasn't defeated the Giants since 2008. The NL Wild Card game should be a good one.

Barry Zito worked 6.1 shutout innings and got plenty of run support, thanks to Hunter Pence's first-inning double and Buster Posey's solo shot in the sixth, as the Giants topped the Dodgers 4-0 to win the series.

Joe Blanton will be the Dodgers' starter in place of Clayton Kershaw, who was scratched prior to tonight's game. For the Giants, Buster Posey will be catching Barry Zito for just the second time in Zito's last four starts.

While Matt Cain spoke to the media following Saturday's loss, his face was pained with regret over the last pitch he threw. For Jeremy Affeldt, he didn't regret the first pitch he threw, but the result cost the Giants the game.
  • 2y
Jeremy Affeldt surrendered a leadoff triple to Adrian Gonzalez to start the ninth, and Hanley Ramirez's RBI double gave the Dodgers a 3-2 win.

After defeating the Dodgers last night, the Giants have a 5.5 game lead in the NL West. Matt Cain is on the hill looking to make it 6.5. Follow along with In-Game Live!
