Greiss signs in Germany

Yet another Sharks player is headed abroad, as goaltender Thomas Greiss has signed in Germany.

Greiss, a German native, will join the Hannover Scorpions according to the official team website. Hes expected to arrive there later this week.

Greiss, 26, was one of the few Sharks players still in the Bay Area, skating regularly at Sharks Ice with Dan Boyle, Brad Stuart, Patrick Marleau and the Islanders Evgeni Nabokov. He becomes the 10th Sharks player to sign a deal overseas and second goaltender, as Antti Niemi is currently playing in his native Finland.

In 38 career NHL games, all with the Sharks, Greiss is 16-12-3 with a 2.52 goals-against average and .911 save percentage. Hes due to become an unrestricted free agent after the 2012-13 season.
