The Sharks are set to announce a three-year contract with defenseman Brad Stuart, according to TSNs Darren Dreger.

Stuart, 32, was acquired by the Sharks from the Red Wings on June 10 for Andrew Murray and a conditional seventh round draft pick in 2014. The pick will go to the Red Wings when the deal becomes official.

The 6-2, 215-pounder played in 377 games with San Jose between 1999 and 2005, posting 153 points (36 goals, 117 assists). He was traded to Boston along with Marco Sturm and Wayne Primeau in exchange for current Sharks captain Joe Thornton on Nov. 30, 2005.
