Seth Curry re-injured his sprained right ankle while warming up for the Kings' Monday night matchup with the Spurs and has been ruled out, CSNCalifornia.com has learned.

"It felt better today, I thought I was going to be able to play, but I aggravated it a little bit trying to warm it up for the game and just can't go," Curry said prior to Monday's game.

The news was first reported by TV play-by-play broadcaster Grant Napear, who relayed that Curry placed his head on the scorer’s table and appeared to be in significant pain before being helped to the training room.

"It's bad timing, it's unfortunate, but I'm close," Curry said.

Curry was originally listed as questionable after he did not play against the Warriors on Saturday.

Curry hopes to be ready for the Kings next game on Wednesday night against the Detroit Pistons.

The sharp-shooter was injured on Friday night in the fourth quarter of the Kings’ 116-110 loss to the Rockets. He scored eight consecutive points, but landed awkwardly on a layup that was book-ended by two 3-pointers, that latter of which Curry did not use his right leg to land on.

Curry said that he doesn't believe the ankle got worse, it's just not ready to play on yet.

The 25-year-old younger brother of reigning MVP Steph Curry is averaging 4.3 points, 1.5 assists and 6.8 minutes in four games with the Kings this season.
