Running back Barry J. Sanders, son of the Hall of Fame running back, has committed to play at Stanford.
Sanders reportedly narrowed his list of potential colleges to Alabama, Florida State, OSU and Stanford months ago.
The elder Sanders won the 1988 Heisman Trophy as a junior at Oklahoma State and set the all-time NCAA single season record with 2,628 rushing yards, 234 points scored and 39 touchdowns.
He is No. 3 on the NFL's all-time rushing list with 15,269 yards. In 1997, the Detroit Lions star rushed for 2,053 yards and 11 touchdowns. Sanders posted 10 consecutive 1,000-yard rushing seasons (1989-1998) and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2004.
