Gaels clobber SF State 86-52

MORAGA(APCSN) --Rob Jones had 10 points and 12 rebounds as Saint Mary's routed San Francisco State 86-52 on Sunday.Saint Mary's (3-1) advanced to Monday's championship game of the Shamrock Classic where they will take on Weber State.
Jones posted his fourth double-double for the Gaels, who played their second non-Division I opponent. San Francisco State is a Division II program. Saint Mary's defeated NAIA opponent Fresno Pacific in the season opener.Steven Holt, Jorden Page and Clint Steindl each had 14 points to lead the Gaels. Matthew Dellavedova had a season-high eight assists for Saint Mary's.James Albright led the Gators (1-4) with 16 points.The Gaels played without starting center Mitchell Young, who is sidelined with a pulled groin.
Saint Mary's opponent Monday night, the Weber State Wildcats, are picked to win the Big Sky Conference and are off to a 4-0 start.
