Zimmer is expected to have a full recovery in 6-8 weeks and procedure should not impact any off-season preparation for 2013 season. Procedure on Zimmer was anticipated based on physical exam during the draft process.Zimmer, who was drafted fifth overall by the Royals in the 2012 Major League Baseball Draft, signed three days after he was drafted for a 3 million bonus, 500,000 less than the 3.5 million slotting for the No. 5 pick.
