UCLA quarterback Brett Hundley Jr. has had contact with sports agent Jay-Z and his Roc Nation Sports, according to a report by Pro Football Post.
Since its launch in spring 2013, Roc Nation Sports has represented the likes of New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith and Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz. Outside of football, Roc Nation represents free-agent second baseman Robinson Cano and WNBA star Skylar Diggins.
Hundley (6-foot-3, 222 pounds) is a redshirt sophomore and can declare for the NFL draft in April. He has been rumored to be a potential first-round draft pick. This year he's led the No. 17-ranked UCLA Bruins to a 5-2 record. Last year, the Chandler, Ariz. native, led the Bruins to the Pac-12 Championship game, while setting school records in single-season completions, single-season passing yardage and total offense.
It is not illegal, according to NCAA bylaws, for an athlete or his representatives to be in contact with an agent, as long as there is no verbal or written agreement for agent representation. Hundley's father has denied the report.
