Saint Mary's men's basketball team received a double-dose of good news Monday, on the heels of the Gaels' big road win at BYU last weekend.

The latest Top 25 poll featured Randy Bennett's team at No. 18, the highest ranking for the program since the Gaels (21-2, 10-0 WCC) were No. 15 in 1959.

Also, the school learned it will face No. 9 Murray State on Feb. 18 in this year's Sears BracketBusters event. The Racers are the last undefeated Division I team in the country.

That game is scheduled for Feb. 18. SMC has won 11 straight games and sits atop the conference standing.

The 10th annual BracketBusters, a three-day mens college basketball event pitting potential NCAA Championship hopefuls against each other Feb. 17-19, features 13 nationally televised games.

Saint Mary's faces University of San Diego Thursday night in Moraga.

With 21 wins and a perfect conference mark, this is the best start to a season in program history.
