The Santa Clara Broncos blew out visiting Ryerson in the team's exhibition opener Friday night, 91-60.

Five Broncos were in double figures, led by redshirt freshman guard Julian Clarke's 19 points.

Kevin Foster, who led the NCAA a year ago with 140 made 3-pointers, struggled to find his rhythm. He was 4-16 from the floor, including 1-11 from beyond the arc. He finished with 9 points and 7 assists.

Freshman point guard Brandon Clark had an outstanding performance with 14 points and 7 assists.

Fellow freshman guard Denzel Johnson chipped in with 14 points.

Jordan Akwenuke, a freshman walk-on from Portland, had a game-high 11 rebounds.

Big men John McArthur and Yannick Atanga added 10 points each.

Santa Clara was without two projected starters -- point guard Evan Roquemore and power forward Niyi Harrison.

The Broncos open the regular season on November 11 at home against UC Merced.
