Chelsea Cain looks back on perfection, history in the making

Amy: Well we've got the wife of Matt Cain, and uh- Chelsea, he just authored the first perfect game in Giants history. We're going back to New York, girl.

Chelsea: It's unbelievable! I could not be happier for him. Insane.

A: Alright, you have to tell us what it's like to watch your husband go through that- Emotionally for you because he's not showing anything, so you're allowed to, right?

C: I guess. Umm...I was shaking through the whole thing. I have to say, it felt special from the very beginning. First two throws strikes, strike-outs, crazy, the home runs were unbelievable. The defense could, like...they-

A: Stuff that wouldn't usually happen for him.

C: Yes. Unbelievable. It was...perfect.

A: It couldn't have been said better. Was it hard to try and get down here? I'm sure it was- seemed like forever to get to him, and hug him and hold him. I was interviewing him.

C: It's funny because I always asked him, I was like "Ok, if you have a no-hitter, do I get to go down on the field?" And he goes, "No. No, you are not going down on the field." So that's the first thing he said to me down here, is "You came down." I was like, "Yep."

A: It just shows how grounded he always is, able to just, you know, stay composed. But I, is this any type of surprise to you that he was capable of doing this?

C: No, no, absolutely not. I knew he would always have one, yes. I'm just so happy that I was here for it.

A: He's got a perfect game. You've got a perfect game because you're responsible too. I know you are.

C: No, no, no.

A: You're his partner.

C: It was Townsend Bakery this morning. That's who's responsible.

A: Every pitcher that comes to visit here will be going there now.

C: Yes, yes.

A: Congratulations to you both. It really could not have happened to two nicer people. I'm very, very happy for Matt and for you. Enjoy your evening!

C: Thank you. We will, definitely. Thank you to our babysitter.

A: I know, right? Chelsea Cain, thanks so much.

C: Thank you.
