The Sharks drafted 18-year-old Nikolay Goldobin in the first round of the 2014 NHL Draft. Goldobin is a 6-foot, 180-pound right wing that has played in the Ontario Hockey League for the Sarnia Sting. San Jose acquired him after trading its 20th and 179th overall picks to Chicago in exchange for the 27th and 62nd selections. Goldobin joins Mirco Mueller and Tomas Hertl as the last three players to be taken by the Sharks in the first round.

Sharks draft Julius Bergman -- 46th overall
The Sharks traded their 51st overall pick and a fourth round selection in 2015 to Nashville. San Jose used one of their two second round picks (46th and 53rd) on defenseman Julius Bergman. He was the assistant captain for Frolunda's J20 team at the age of 18. At six-foot-one, 187-pounds, Bergman stood out from the other defensemen in the draft.
