Raiders safety Brandian Ross formally signed a one-year contract tender on Monday to remain with the team.

Ross was an exclusive rights free agent, meaning he had no negotiating power in this contract. If he didn’t sign the contract tender, Ross wouldn’t have been allowed to play for another NFL team next season.

Exclusive rights free agents have two or fewer years NFL service and typically went undrafted.

Ross played 955 defensive snaps last season, a lofty sum given after Tyvon Branch was lost for the season with a broken fibula in a Week 2 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Ross had 75 tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble last season.

Ross is the last exclusive rights free agent to sign his tender. Offensive lineman Matt McCants, linebacker Kaelin Burnett, fullback Jamize Olawale and running back Jeremy Stewart and defensive back Chimdi Chekwa signed tenders previously.
