The San Diego Chargers will be without starting running back Ryan Mathews when the team takes on the Raiders Monday night.
The Chargers' Twitter account announced that the third-year player will miss Week 1 to nurse a broken clavicle, which he injured during the first play of the preseason.
Ronnie Brown is expected to take over the starting duties, but Mathews is reportedly anticipating a return to the field in Week 2.
In his career against the Raiders, Mathews has carried the ball 15 times for 93 yards and no touchdowns.
