Based on what I saw and heard at the Raiders' Sunday walk-through, here are five things to expect in preseason game No. 1 of the Dennis Allen era for Raiders football, which kicks off Monday night at the Coliseum in Oakland against the Dallas Cowboys:
RB Taiwan Jones, WR Denarius Moore, RB Mike Goodson and WR Eddie McGee are certain not to play.
Dennis Allen will look with particular interest at the following groups: Tight ends, cornerbacks, and backup offensive lineman. Hes still looking for players to step forward at those positions. With all the injuries at running back, underdogs Lonyae Miller and Rashawn Jackson figure to see a much higher than normal workload. This is a particularly good opportunity for Miller, whos been on the practice squad fringes his whole career. Hes got a great opportunity, Allen said. Now lets see what he does with it. You could see defensive end Lamarr Houston sliding inside on some passing downs. Allen says Terrelle Pryor should see action at quarterback. It will be Pryors first preseason action as a Raider.
