Ex-Raider Wimbley no ninja

Former Raiders defensive end Kamerion Wimbley recently tested his athletic prowess on the TV show American Ninja Warrior in Miami, Florida. Wimbley, listed at six-foor-three inches and 255 pounds, showed impressive athleticism in completing the obstacle course, but his time of 1:30 placed him 16th in the 2012 southeast regional semifinals, in which only the Top 15 contestants advanced.

"I think the mindsets are similar, being here and being on the football field. It's about competing," Wimlbey said before his run. "My gameplan is just to try to take some of the things I've learned in football and in my training and apply them here.

"I'm more than just a football player."

Wimbley has been a force to be reckoned with since he recorded 11 sacks in his rookie season in 2006.

In two seasons with the Raiders, Wimbley played in all 32 games, recording 96 tackles, 16 sacks, one interception, four passes defended and one forced fumble.

He was cut by the Raiders in March, and since signed with the Tennessee Titans.
