Injury report: Latham working toward return; Joseph remains absent

ALAMEDA – Raiders defensive tackle Darius Latham was a limited participant in Thursday’s practice, as he progresses toward a return to game action.

The undrafted yet impactful rookie has missed two games with an ankle injury. He was questionable before Thursday’s loss to Kansas City, a sign he was getting closer to a return.

A full practice week, even on a limited basis, could put him in position to play and add depth to the interior defensive line on Sunday at San Diego. Latham has been a stout run defender, with some interior pass-rush ability.

Getting him back would help a position group likely without Stacy McGee for a third straight game.

Karl Joseph missed yet another practice, and it’s extremely likely he misses another game with a toe injury.

Shilique Calhoun is still recovering from a knee procedure and remains out.

Receivers Amari Cooper (shoulder) and Michael Crabtree (finger) remain limited but are expected to play through injury.

Quarterback Derek Carr was a full participant yet is on the injury report due to common knowledge of an injury he is fully playing through.
