Injury report: Mack, Woodson probable vs Steelers

PITTSBURGH –- The Raiders played it safe with Khalil Mack’s strained hamstring, which acted up late in Sunday’s 34-20 victory over the New York Jets. They wanted him as fit as possible for the Week 9 road game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, so they kept him out of Wednesday’s practice and limited him the next day.

Mack was full-go from a light Friday walk-thru and later declared probable to play the Steelers on the team’s official injury report.

“(We were) just doing the right thing, making sure that we allow him time to heal up from the last game,” head coach Jack Del Rio said. “We’re fortunate that he’s young and strong and tends to recover very quickly.”

The Raiders limited another young impact defender in hopes he’ll be ready for the Steelers. Safety TJ Carrie has been playing with shoulder issues for a while now, and a hip injury has been added to his ailments. Carrie was officially questionable, though there’s a strong belief that he’ll be able to suit up and play.

Linebacker Neiron Ball was ruled out a second straight week with a knee sprain. Everyone else was considered probable and will play for a Raiders team that is surprisingly healthy for Week 9.

Here’s a complete injury report for both teams.
