Injury report: Raiders CB Amerson questionable, Panthers missing Kuechly

ALAMEDA – Raiders cornerback David Amerson missed two full practice days with a knee injury, though he was on the field watching the game plan form.

On Friday, he got back in the mix on a limited basis. He was formally designated questionable for Sunday’s game against Carolina at Oakland Coliseum.

Reserve edge rusher Shilique Calhoun was ruled out earlier this week, but he could well be the only Raider unavailable against Carolina. Amerson could start without much practice time, and would be ready after staying involved mentally during practice.

The Panthers will miss several key players, including middle linebacker Luke Kuechly and center Ryan Khalil. They’ll also miss defensive end Mario Addison, who has 6.5 sacks already this season.

That should help the Raiders, especially with Kuechly sidelined. He’s considered one of, if not the, NFL’s best middle linebacker. A.J. Klein is expected to start in his place.
