ALAMEDA – Raiders outside linebacker Sio Moore participated in Tuesday’s practice, just a few days after suffering a neck strain during Friday’s exhibition at Green Bay.

Moore worked in a limited role and was kept away from contact, but it was yet another step in the right direction.

"He moved around some out there," head coach Dennis Allen said. "He's still not 100 percent, but we felt like the best thing for him to do was get out and move around a little bit. He stayed out of contact, but he went through some individual drills to begin to get some movement back."

He's not ready to jump back into the lineup, but it's sign of progress for a player who initially seemed to be in dire straits.

Moore was taken off the field on a stretcher following several tense moments where he lied face down on the Lambeau Field turf. Encouraging signs followed the incident that eventually led the Raiders to rule out all serious injury.

He was quickly released from a Green Bay, Wis. hospital on Friday and was able to fly home with the team. He was out of a neck brace when seen in the locker room on Monday and was back to practice the following day.

Some other injury notes:

-- Quarterback Matt Schaub (elbow) sat out a third straight practice, but threw on the side with trainers. Allen formally ruled him out of Thursday's exhibition against Seattle, and was uncertain whether he'd be able to work when the team returns to the practice field on Monday.

"He threw on the side with the trainers, and that was a positive sign," Allen said. "We'll see where he's at tomorrow, and we'll continue to take it day by day."

-- Right tackle Menelik Watson (hip) also returned to practice after suffering an injury in Friday’s game, and he took some team reps.

"He's not 100 percent, but we're continuing to push him in the rehab process," Allen said. "His fighting through it and hopefully get him back here soon."
