ALAMEDA – Raiders receiver James Jones has a sprained left shoulder. The veteran injured himself on Tuesday diving to catch a pass near the sideline. He didn’t practice Wednesday and is expected to miss Thursday’s minicamp finale.

In great news for a Raiders team lacking a true No. 1 receiver, head coach Dennis Allen said Jones’ sprained AC joint should be fine by training camp.

Jones also missed time last week with a hamstring strain.

Tight end Nick Kasa also missed Wednesday’s work with an undisclosed ailment.

Other than that, the usual suspects missed practice. The list includes cornerback DJ Hayden (ankle), defensive tackle Antonio Smith (undisclosed), guard Lucas Nix (knee) and cornerback Carlos Rogers (calf). Outside linebacker Kevin Burnett, who hasn’t participated at least in workouts open to the press, stretched with the team and participated in individual drills.

Allen said that Nix is the only player who might miss the start of camp.
