NAPA -- A pair of young Raiders missed practice on Thursday, the fourth session in pads over the last five days.

The Raiders kept first-round pick Karl Joseph out of the action for undisclosed reasons. The strong safety had been a mainstay with the starting unit since the start of training camp. He missed the offseason rehabbing from surgery that repaired a torn ACL.

Tight end Clive Walford was dressed in pads, but returned to the field house for an unknown reason before practice began in earnest. Walford did not participate in offseason practices after suffering a knee injury from an ATV accident.

Also, running back Taiwan Jones, defensive lineman Leon Orr, tight end Colton Underwood and cornerback SaQwan Edwards were not active in Thursday's practice.

Head coach Jack Del Rio is not scheduled to speak after practice. Quarterback Derek Carr and edge rusher Khalil Mack are expected to talk to the media after this session.
