HOUSTON – Raiders quarterback Terrelle Pryor and running Darren McFadden were ruled out of Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans earlier in the week.

Passer Matt McGloin and rusher Rashad Jennings will be charged with moving an offense gone stagnant in recent weeks.

If all goes really well, that reserve tandem could work their way into the starting lineup.

If McGloin can produce steadily through the air, Pryor might not get his job back when healthy. Pryor has thrown one touchdown and eightinterceptions over his last four games, leaving his long-term standing with the team in greater question.

The Raiders confidence has waned, especially over the early season. But, if McGloin struggles, the Raiders will go back to Pryor when his sprained knee heals and let him play out the season.

Jennings has earned an increased role when McFadden’s hamstring fully heals after consecutive games over 100 yards total offense, but it could get bigger with another solid game.

The Raiders also designated safety Tyvon Branch, cornerback D.J. Hayden, linebacker Kaluka Maiava, tackle Matt McCants and receiver Juron Criner inactive
