ALAMEDA -- With their second fourth-round pick of the 2014 NFL Draft, the Raiders selected Utah cornerback Keith McGill.

College career: McGill earn All-Pac-12 honorable mention honors in his best collegiate season. He had 12 pass breakups and an interception for the Utes. He will be a 25-year old rookie. He missed the 2012 season rehabbing a shoulder injury. He also had DUI arrest in that time. He spent 2009-10 in junior college.

Scouting report: The Raiders are taking a flier on a physically gifted player with off-field issues, injury troubles and relative inexperience at the position. McGill has the size and physical tools to be a solid cornerback or a safety. Analysts say he needs to improve his footwork and play with better physicality.

How he fits: McGill could turn a solid training camp into the No. 4 cornerback spot behind D.J. Hayden, Tarell Brown and Carlos Rogers. The Raiders hope he can develop into an impact player in 2015, after one-year deals for Brown and Rogers expire. He could also transition to safety.
